Founded in 1988, K&M is a full service Engineering and Operations consultancy that focuses on helping clients design and construct complex wells. K&M is a firm believer that while wells may be vastly different in profile and complexity the same high level principals apply across the board. Physics is physics, irrespective of the well’s location.
The breadth and depth of the K&M Engineers’ extended reach and horizontal drilling experiences allows us to look at each customer’s well (or wells) on a case by case basis and deliver recommendations that address their specific challenges in a practical, fit for purpose manner. On numerous occasions solutions have been identified and successfully applied to help clients drill wells that had previously been considered by them to be unrealistic.
In many cases we commence our consultation with clients during the well design phase, we then help them train their operational crews and we provide rig based advisors during the well construction phase to ensure best practices are applied.
Where clients have not used our services previously and are experiencing a string of costly operational problems, we offer a service to review the engineering and operational procedures being applied and in so doing, determine the root causes of the problems encountered and where possible provide recommendations for improvement and/or risk reduction for the remaining wells.
