Career Summary:
Tim began his career in the industry in 2002 as a mud logger. After two years working primarily offshore in the North Sea, while completing his master’s degree, he became focused on drilling optimization in general and hole cleaning/hole condition monitoring specifically.
Tim’s experience as an on-site drilling engineer includes working on ERD wells in the UK North Sea, Gullfaks and Kvitebjorn fields in Norway, ACG Fields in the Caspian Sea, Malaysia, Brunei and deepwater Angola, as well as the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to his offshore/on-site work, he has been involved in the development and use of real-time cuttings weighing equipment for hole cleaning monitoring; development and implementation of software tools for real-time monitoring of hole condition and ECD management; development of surface tools for monitoring drill-string vibrations; participation in clients in-house research projects into drilling efficiency and optimization; and training of client and service company personnel for real-time hole condition monitoring.
Tim joined K&M in November 2007, and has since worked on ERD wells in the Gulf of Mexico and been involved the planning and design for ERD projects in Australia, Equatorial Guinea, North Sea and onshore US.
Tim lives in Houston, Texas.
