Career Summary:

Tony began his career in the oilfield with Esso Australia after graduating from university with honors. Tony worked as a drilling engineer for Esso where he worked extended reach and horizontal well projects on the Mackerel, Fortescue, Tuna, West Tuna and Moonfish drilling programs. Tony made many notable contributions to these programs and was instrumental in the development of new procedures and innovations that considerably improved Esso’s drilling efficiency.

Tony teamed-up with company President, Mike Mims, to win the 1996 Australian Institute of Engineer’s, Engineering Excellence Award for advancements in Extended Reach Drilling Technologies. Tony is an expert on downhole systems including directional drilling, logging while drilling and bit technologies. He has worked with a number of service companies over the past few years to develop and/or refine leading edge technologies in these areas.

Tony joined K&M Technology Group after completing a 1-year contract with BHP Petroleum following his departure from Esso. Tony became a Vice President of the company in July 1997 and began immediately to make significant impacts on the engineering technologies associated with the company's business. Tony has extensive ER experience worldwide, with many record breaking extended reach wells on his design table.

Tony has provided engineering leadership and design roles in most of the world’s record-breaking extended reach and complex well projects including: BP Niakuk, Exxon Sacate, ExxonMobil Sakhalin Island, Chevron Petronius, Chevron Captain, Statoil Gulfaks, Woodside Goodwyn and Hibernia Canada; just to name a few.

Tony has published his achievements on a number of occasions with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and other industry technical publications. His technical knowledge and seemingly endless ability to be innovative is a huge asset to K&M’s engineering management team.
