Career Summary:
Mike began his career in the oil industry in 1985 with Solum Oil Tool Corporation in Long Beach, California. As the project engineer for a large contract in China, Mike was responsible for the design and construction of sand control units and the associated downhole tools. When Mike left Solum Oil Tool in 1988 he was the Chief Development Engineer for worldwide engineering and service and spent a great deal of his time fulfilling contracts in Southeast Asia and North America.
Mike founded K&M Enterprises in Bakersfield, California in April of 1988. As President and Chief Engineer, Mike designed numerous tools and techniques for extended reach and horizontal drilling projects. As a result of these designs, Mike now holds more than 10 patents, worldwide, and has played a key role in the successful drilling and completion of numerous extended reach and horizontal wells.
In June of 1992, Mike closed down the California operation and moved the company to Perth, Australia. Mike became one of the founding directors of the new company, K&M Technology Group Pty Ltd. Mike is a co-inventor of the TAD System Torque & Drag Model and has played a key role in its design and development. Mike also led the team in the development of the Remote Data Entry System; K&M's state-of-the-art hole condition monitoring system.
Mike fills the role as President & CEO for Worldwide Operations by providing primary direction for the company on a daily basis. He also fills the role as Engineering Manager ensuring that the quality and content of K&M's work is maintained at the highest standard. Mike moved his family to Houston, Texas in 1997 to open the North American Headquarters for K&M where he spear-heads the products and services offered by the company. His daily administrative role and new product development role have been passed on to the others in the company.
Mike teamed up with company VP, Tony Krepp, to win the 1996 Engineering Excellence Award for their achievements in Extended Reach Drilling Technologies. Mike and his lovely wife, Kate, stay busy keeping track of their three sons and all of their related school and athletic activities.
