Career Summary:
Tommy has worked up the ladder from the very beginning as a roughneck for Zapata drilling in 1979. Over the years, he worked his way up with various drilling contractors as Driller, Toolpusher, Rig Manager, and Drilling Superintendent. The past 9 years he worked as a Drilling Superintendent for H&P in Columbia, Venezuela, Bolivia and South Texas .
In the early day, Tommy worked mainly in the Gulf Coast and West Texas, but quickly moved on to deepwater drilling in Brazil for Petrobras. As a tool pusher, he gained experience with deepwater and horizontal wells in the GOM and Indonesia for Exxon and ARCO. In the early 90's, he gained extensive HPHT experience in Columbia working with Amoco on the Opon field. These wells were particularly nasty, with over 20 ppg Hematite mud required in certain areas.
Prior to joining K&M Tommy worked as a consultant Drilling Supervisor for Cabot, Total, ExxonMobil, and others. In 2005 he joined K&M to add to his extensive experience with challenging wells.
With 27 years of extensive and diverse drilling experience, Tommy is an invaluable addition to the K&M team. He knows rig equipment and downhole behavior like the back of his hand, and has an uncanny ability to see what is going on downhole. Since joining K&M he has worked on high-profile ERD projects in the North Sea, GOM, and offshore California .
Tommy and his wife Sylvia live and raise their children in Georgetown , Mississippi .
