Career Summary:
Shane began his career as rig-site Engineer for ConocoPhillips Alaska supporting execution of drilling operations for the West Sak 1E oil drilling program on the North Slope of Alaska. The 1E program included 13 ERD wells that were a combination of dual-lateral and tri-lateral horizontal producers and injectors, with very complex 3-D wellpaths and long horizontal laterals at very shallow (+/-3,500') TVD. His key responsibilities included torque, drag, and buckling modeling and real-time analysis, as well as real-time ECD management and hole condition monitoring
Shane then provided drilling engineering support for the 2005 West Sak 1J viscous-oil drilling program. The 1J project includes 30 extended reach wells, which are a combination of dual-lateral and trilateral horizontals with reach to TVD ratios up to 6:1.
Shane joined K&M Technology Group in early 2005. Given that he was already involved with K&M client wells, he hit the ground running much faster than a typical new engineer. He has since worked extended reach, HPHT and deep water ERD wells in the Gulf of Mexico, the UK and Norwegian North Sea, New Zealand, and Holland. We are very excited about the level of field experience and innovation that Shane brings to the K&M team.
Shane and his wife Sabina lives in The Woodlands, Texas with their children, Lucas and Tobias.
