Career Summary:
Ramon began his career with Exxon Company USA where he worked various engineering assignments in Houston, Tyler and Corpus Christi in production, drilling and completions. He worked in the drilling and completion of numerous oil and gas wells primarily in east and south Texas including HPHT wells. In Tyler he was responsible for the design and execution of several record setting stimulation jobs for Exxon Company USA. After several domestic drilling engineering management assignments, he moved to Tokyo, Japan and worked as the lead drilling engineer for the Iwaki Project. Ramon then transferred to New Orleans, LA where he worked as a division staff engineer responsible for a variety of wells in Louisiana, Alabama, Gulf of Mexico and offshore California. In his drilling work he has utilized all types of drilling rigs including land, barge, platform rigs, jack-ups, semi-submersibles and dynamically positioned floaters.
In 1994, Ramon joined Schlumberger as an international drilling project manager. His first assignment was in Venezuela where he utilized his HPHT and directional experience to successfully manage drilling HPHT wells in Lake Maracaibo utilizing 3 jack-up rigs. He then managed major well construction projects for clients such as Pan African, PEMEX and Respol YPF in Gabon, Mexico and Ecuador. While based in Paris, Ramon worked as drilling engineering manager supporting Schlumberger managed drilling activities in Russia, Europe and Africa.
Ramon and his wife Ida reside in Richmond, Texas.
