Career Summary:
Luis began his career in 1996 as a mechanical engineer for Acerias Nacionales del Ecuador. Shortly thereafter, he was employed with Schlumberger as a field engineer working all over North, Central and South America on vertical, directional, horizontal wells, HPHT, land and offshore operations. Luis worked himself up through Schlumberger where he became in charge of the Drilling Engineering Center and Operations Support Center, for US Land Mid Continent which included Oklahoma, North Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Michigan and Montana. Luis has over 9 years experience working with Schlumberger in Ecuador, Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Mexico and United States as a Drilling Engineer specializing in Directional Wells.
Luis successfully designed, executed and evaluated the first ever Casing While Drilling with a Rotary Steerable System Directional Well and the first ever Horizontal Directional Drilling River Crossing with Rotary Steerable System. His breakthrough technology has been to combine Casing While Drilling and Rotary Steerable Systems in order to drill directional wells using the advantages of both. The results of the technological advances were present at the Society of Petroleum Engineers and International Association of Drilling Contractors Drilling Conference in Amsterdam in 2005.
Luis joined K&M Technology Group in 2006. He has become a great asset to K&M Technology Group. The combination of his abilities makes him truly an individual of extraordinary ability. Luis will assist K&M with existing ER wells and determine feasibility of future ER wells. He will also help the K&M engineering team to develop new technology that will allow the industry to reach further for energy assets.
Luis, his wife Adriana, and their two children, Malena and Gabriel, recently moved to The Woodlands, Texas. He is fluent in Spanish, English and speaks some Portuguese.
