Career Summary:
Harry began his career in the oil
industry with Esso Australia as an electronics specialist
in 1977. He began his drilling career in 1981 as a
drilling supervisor trainee with Esso in their Bass
Strait operations. Since then, Harry has gained experience
in most phases of drilling, completion, workover and
wireline operations. He has played a major role in
shaping Esso's operations around the new safety management
systems and is an expert in computer software designs,
especially related to electronics applications.
Harry has been drilling extended
reach and horizontal wells, on land and offshore applications
since 1982, having participated in the designs and
drilling operations for a number of Exxon Corporate,
Australian and World Record wells. Harry was a senior
drilling supervisor on the Mackerel Infill Drilling
Program when K&M became involved with Esso Australia.
Harry was one of the critics of the new hole condition
monitoring systems and new drilling and tripping procedures
that K&M were introducing to Esso's Operations.
K&M worked intimately with
Harry and his colleagues to significantly improve
Esso's drilling efficiency (by 47% in 1994). In June
1997, when he retired from Esso Australia, the K&M
team was thrilled when Harry accepted the offer to
become a member of the company. Harry has a long history
of being an entrepreneur and businessman having owned
his own business in the past and possessing a number
of training aides which he has developed.
Harry's contributions to the K&M
Australian operations began almost immediately upon
his arrival in Perth to begin where he has begun his
familiarization period with the company. He is now
making significant contributions to extended reach
wells being drilled around the world including the
Gulf of Mexico, Australia, Norway, Alaska, New Zealand
and China.
Harry and his wife Jill currently
reside in Inverloch, Victoria, Australia.
