He later trained as a directional drilling engineer in Congo working on shallow horizontals and deepwater operations.

In 1995 Goke was assigned as Schlumberger field service manager for Cameroun and Equatorial Guinea, managing MWD, LWD, Directional Drilling, and Fishing operations. His next assignment brought him to the Schlumberger training center in Sugar Land, Texas in 1997, where he taught MWD/LWD and Directional Drilling.

In 1999 he was assigned to Schlumberger Middle East operations as Technical Manager for the Gulf region based in Abu-Dhabi, UAE. During this assignment he was a key participant in the drilling of the ERD wells in Qatar and the UAE.

Goke returned to Sugar Land in 2001 as an InTouch Engineer for the Drilling Planning and Execution Helpdesk. His duties included reviewing responses to technical questions from the field to develop solutions for possible unsafe operating conditions; participating in the review of materials used in Training Centers to ensure that appropriate and safe procedures were being taught; and overseeing the dissemination of safety alerts through the InTouch system.   He was also responsible to oversee communication and ensure compliance with directional drilling planning and execution procedures; manage the Best Practices Data Base for Drilling Engineering; identify and define key issues from the field in order to respond to any product failure trends; identify training weaknesses; and contribute to continuous product and service improvements.

In 2004, Goke became Drilling Engineering manager for Schlumberger US Land operations in Houston, where he was responsible for the delivery of sound drilling engineering solutions in the deployment of directional drilling services.
